The dads' club of J.L. Long Middle School gathers at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin Restaurant and Bar in Deep Ellum for a happy hour and informational session on the school.

The annual gathering features Danielle Petters, Long's new principal, who will discuss the school year to date. The event offers Long dads the chance to learn about the school's progress and plans, and the opportunity to become better acquainted with other parents of Long students.

St. Pete's proprietor Pete Zotos, himself a Long dad, arranged for the meeting at the restaurant, which needs a count of attendees. RSVP to the event organizers by e-mail.
