Seeing the Arboretum the First Time

One month ago today, my wife and I celebrated our sixth anniversary. Each previous year, we headed over to Sunset Bay on White Rock Lake with a picnic basket full of cheese and crackers and a bottle of champagne.

This year, we decided to do something a little different because, well, because things are a little different in our lives. So, we opted for an afternoon stroll through the Dallas Arboretum. It was grand.

I'd never really looked at the Arboretum grounds before because each time I'd ever been, it was to cover some event. This time, it was just the two of us and nature's beauty — plus a bridal photo shoot or 47 and a horde of kids in strollers.

I was pretty much awed by the sweep of colors, the cascading waters, and the wafting sweet smells. The Arboretum was the second-most beautiful thing I saw out there.

I think her photography does it all justice.End of story
