Lakehill Prep had a fun "Trek for Tech" to raise money for the school's technological needs.

Running for Technology

The starter's pistol sounded at 8 a.m. Nov. 8 on Lakehill Preparatory School's 10th annual Trek for Tech fundraising Fun Run and 5K races.

The event raised money to update the school's educational and administrative technology systems. Participants competed for trophies in six categories each for boys and girls, men and women. Ever the good sport, Headmaster Roger Perry served as an over-under category for people to bid on his finishing time.

Last year's event raised more than $20,000 for technology purchases. Lakehill topped that amount this year, bringing in $23,000 for digital and video cameras, interactive whiteboards, projectors, science probes, wireless microphones, and computers.End of story
