Senior linebacker Tim Moore recovers a fumble in the first quarter in the Woodrow vs. Lincoln football game.
The Woodrow Wilson Wildcats hosted the visiting Lincoln High School Tigers at Franklin Stadium in a game with playoff implications.
A Woodrow win would have kept the Wildcats in the District 12-4A race. A loss would secure a spot for Lincoln and leave the Wildcats hoping for a Conrad upset of Bryan Adams.
Lincoln came out strong and hung 39 first-half points on the Woodrow defense, while the Wildcats failed to generate any matching offensive momentum. The Wildcats' defense held the Tigers without a second-half score, but still Woodrow's offense sputtered, leaving Woodrow on the short end of a 30-0 final score.
Woodrow needed the Emmett J. Conrad High School Chargers to upset Bryan Adams to keep the Wildcats' playoff hopes alive, but the BA Cougars took Friday's game from the Chargers by a 50-6 margin.
