With Halloween over and Thanksgiving looming, it would be easy to overlook the events falling between the holidays. For the Lakewood Community, however, there are multiple opportunities coming up in the next two weeks that should prove entertaining or worthwhile.
Nov. 8, members of Girl Scout Troop 1566 from J.L. Long Middle School show their love for the lake by picking up trash as White Rock as part of the Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-up. They meet at the For the Love of the Lake office at 8:30 a.m.
Nove. 8-9, 50 local artists works will be featured at the White Rock Art Festival. Tickets are $3 for adults.
Nov. 9, Junius Heights second annual Historic Home Tour and Arts and Crafts Bazaar runs in Mungar Park from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Nov. 10, Woodrow Wilson Choir Dessert Theater begins at 7 p.m., 6:30 for dessert, in the Woodrow Auditorium. Woodrow's mixed and girls choirs, ninth-12th grades, will perform, along with J.L. Long's Expectations show choir. Counterpoint, Woodrow's award winning show choir, will also make their debut.
