Snuffing out dinner plans

I was in a burger kind of mood last night for dinner, so my wife and I decided we'd head over to Snuffer's. I could get a decent burger and she could hone her self-restraint by avoiding the cheesy-fries.

Alas, when we arrived, the side parking lot was overrun by orange cones and valet parkers. I can kinda see that during weekend business along one of the busiest strips in town, but on a Tuesday?

I will be damned if I'm going to pay for the privilege of parking before paying for the privilege of dining in a burger joint at midweek.

So, hey Pat, the folks over at Dodie's said to tell you thanks for a little extra business last night they wouldn't have had otherwise. [indignant snort]End of story

Agreed. It happened to me the other day for lunch during the week. I refused to valet and parked behind Snuffer's.

But you still need a burger! Homemade is always best!

That forced valet parking is blackmail and extortion. Snuffers didn't do that until recently.

I'm there with you about valet parking. It sure is a Dallas thang!!! Don't get me started about La Duni...grrrrrr.... There are plenty of great restaurants that don't need to have valet, but make us do it. My view: NEXT!!!

btw, try Angry Dog...yummmy burgers, and there's always Number 4 burger at Keller's.

Hey, don't forget the consistently good, Burger House. Sonny promises to never have valet parking. If the lot is full, there is always drive through. If Mockingbird Lane backs up the good old DPD will provide cover for you.

Keller's is the best! And you definitely don't need to worry about valet parking, parking meters, or any other kind of parking!

yes, homemade burgers are best, but the old weber kettle went to the great backyard cookout in the sky not too many months ago. and y'all are right, Keller's or Burger House make fine burgers, but it was a sit-down dinner night. for my money, though, the best burgers around are at Cock and Bull, but it wasn't a sit-at-the-bar dinner night, just a dinner night. oh, and Dodie's gravy-cheese fries can be described in two words: awe. some.

Try Good Eats Brandy Jack Burger! Pepper jack cheese, bacon, fried onion strings and a brandy peppercorn sauce! Can you say AWE SOME!?
