Dogs Running Loose

There were a few e-mail messages from Lakewood Pet Watch founder Stefanie Spaeth awaiting our eyes this morning.

One concerned a black Lab mix who already has been reunited with her humans.

Two others, though, remain on the loose.

Little One most likely is not wearing her gay apparel just now.

Little One most likely is not wearing her gay apparel just now.

One, a Chihuahua-terrier mix called Little One slipped out of her backyard at the corner of Vanderbilt Avenue and Abrams Road just before bath time. She's missing her collar and tags because she was up next for a good washing. She weights about 10 pounds.

Contact her human with any information about Little One's whereabouts.

One roaming dog might be a stray or might be a lost, confused pet. A neighbor spotted this three-legged golden-brown chow-mix near Carolyncrest Drive in Lakewood. The dog does not have a collar and will not come when called.

The lady who spotted the dog can be reached via e-mail with any information about the dog's identity or home.End of story

If that is the Chow Mix I think it is his leg is there but it is so broken it just hangs. I have been chasing the Chow Mix since February. He is a smart one. If anyone sees him again PLEASE call animal control (311). That fate is better than starving on the street or getting hit by a car, again!

I live on Lakeshore (6200 block) and have rescued "Little One" before. A neighbor of hers told us "she gets out all the time" (the fence is not secure) Why dont her human parents fix this so this doesnt happen all the time. That is a very busy and dangerous intersection. How can they not be concerned for their pets welfare?

Cgale26 - I happen to know the parents of Little One. Actually just had a conversation with them about this last week. Her 'mother' is very involved in animal rescue and has been for years. She has found homes for a magnitude of dogs and cats in the Lakewood area. Not to mention that she has volunteered her time at elementary schools speaking to kids about spaying and neutering their pets and pet care. This is the first pet that she has had that has been such an escape artist.

Have you seen any of the other 20 dogs that she has had in and out of her yard this year?

How many stray animals have you found homes for?

Maybe before you post such a sour opinion, you should have your facts in order.
