We're fairly sure that's Kate Pederson on the left and Bryce Romney on the right.
Two Woodrow Wilson High School students — Kate Pederson and Bryce Romney — rank among the top academic achievers in the country. Both recently were named National Merit Commended Scholar based on their performances on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Exam.
Their exam scores placed them in the top 3.3 percent of the 1.5 million students nationwide who took the test. Finalists and scholarship-winners will be announced by National Merit Scholarship Corporation in February.
The pair aren't all books-and-study. Romney serves as president of the class of 2009 and Pederson is the class secretary. Both sing with Variations, the Woodrow show choir, and both perform in this weekend's fall play, "The Radiance of a Thousand Suns."
Give it up for Kate Pederson and Bryce Romney.
