A reader pinged us last night at the ungodly time of 8:35 — way past my bedtime — and wanted to know if the Lakewood Country Club will stage its annual fireworks display for the July 4 holiday and celebration.

Guess we in the media have committed the cardinal sin of assuming something was common knowledge and taking it for granted.

A call to the country club verified that, yes, the sky lights up Friday night at 9:15, so get your "oooo's" and "aaaaahhs" ready.
