Lakewood-Now just talked with a representative of Whole Foods, proud new owners of the old Minyard location at Abrams and Gaston. We asked about the possibility of opening access to the parking lot tomorrow (Wednesday, July 4) at around, say, 9:15p, since it's across the street from the Lakewood Country Club where the fireworks display will go off.

The Whole Foods rep said they would not remove the "very low" chain barriers that keep vehicles out of the parking lot—insurance reasons, don't you know—but...a person likely could step over the "very low" chain, even while carrying a cooler, lawn chairs, picnic basket, and such, if that person were so inclined.

Hmmmm...
